I personally feel that is is the right of employers to view their employees internet history on company computers. This should include e-mails, instant messages, and any other activities carried out on company property at any time. Employees should be informed that this is happening and they should know what they are and are not allowed to do on company computers. I feel that this should be the same for any company telephones, cell phones, automobiles, or anything else that is considered to be company property.
With that being said, I do not believe that employee's personal property should ever be screened by employers. Personal property is personal and private. Employers have no right to access any information that came from any item that does not belong to them.
